| Description of Project: | Because of EEC, Incorporated’s exemplary work on the first project (see Government Performance, WRAIR), EEC, Incorporated was invited back to propose a solution for this project. Bio-Decontamination of a laboratory, filter bank and associated ductwork. This involved the custom installation of HEPA filter bank. |
Project Features:
- Bio-decontamination of one BSL 3 laboratory and associated ductwork
- Custom installation of a complicated HEPA filter bank
- EEC, Incorporated met the Client’s need for a critical tight schedule
This project involved the bio-decontamination of a Bio Safety Level 3 laboratory and extensive associated ductwork that was forty inches in diameter using Vaporized Hydrogen Peroxide (VHP). EEC, Incorporated also removed and properly disposed of the used contaminated filters and replaced them with custom HEPA Filter Bank. The project was unique because of the large volume of ductwork to be decontaminated and also prior to this project all decontamination performed by our subcontractor had been confined between the laboratories and the final HEPA filters. EEC, Incorporated had to remove the filters under negative pressure and make the top of the flue duct airtight to contain the VHP during the decontamination process.
The work schedule was critical and had to be completed on time. EEC, Incorporated succeeded in completing the work on schedule.
